SNAKES! (stART) PAINT WITH YARN SNAKE CRAFT

Thursday A Mommy's Adventures does a really fun blog carnival every Thursday - read your child a story then accompany it with art!

This week's stART is Snakes! What boy doesn't like snakes - my boys do!

A boy and his terrier have no problem with wrestling squids or battling sharks, but they balk at snakes. Naturally, they are beset by every possible variety, at every possible turn. There are snakes heaped under the bed and on the stairs, and, "With a herculean grasp,/A multicolored asp/Nonchalantly shimmies up a wall." The poetry flows easily and is filled with inventive alliteration and quirky humor: "A speckled anaconda/Steals the family Honda/And races down the driveway in reverse."
We made our own snakes crawl across paper, using yarn & paint - they slithered all over the place!
Kinda abstract looking!

  8. ok, snakes on the walls. Scary. I know, I'm a mom of boys I shouldn't scare so easily but ewww. I saw a blog post where someone painted with cooked spaghetti and got the same effect but yarn would prob hold up better.
