I have been primarly focusing on Montessori teaching with my 2 and 4 year old. Here are some activities we have recently done:
For my 4 year old
Sharpening crayons with a pencil sharpener (we needed the shavings for a craft)
I took yarn and tied them between 2 chairs and gave my son socks and clothes pins for him to hang the socks up on the line (yarn)
Using the same line (yarn) he hung up his Barrel of Monkeys and so did my 2 year old
These activities were to teach hand and eye coordination, fine motor skills and dexerity.

All great activities! I will have to try them with my two year old. Thanks for sharing :)

ReplyDeleteI LOVE the monkeys idea, and I know I have a barrel stored away somewhere. I have been looking longingly at the mini clothespins I recently bought for my daughter, but know she's not quite ready for. Monkeys will be a great alternative!
