My husband had his eye's done with the lasik surgery about a year ago and recently he cleaned out his side of the bathroom vanity pulled out a bunch of contact lens cases he used when he wore contact lenses. He asked me if I wanted them, hmmmmmmmmmm I thought how could I use these? Oh yeah for dexterity lessons for my daughter and son!
Alot of them were empty but I cleaned the cases and tops REALLY good.

I placed them in our learning trays seperating the cases from their screw on tops.
Then placed them in front of my children, the object is for them to learn how to screw the tops on as well as the cases with the pop on tops to open and close them.
My 4 year old didn't know how to screw on the tops but after showing him and him doing the activity he got it! While my 2 year old was placing the tops on the cases but not able to screw the tops on completely. I am sure this is an activity that we will enjoy over the year and as time goes on they will be able to perfect it! I like using these because they do not take up alot of room and I am able to throw a few in a learning bag and bring them on the go to keep them busy!

Great idea! Once they master that, those little cases are great for separating tiny beads, and a friend uses them to store seeds until the need planting!

What a great idea to use all of those old cases.
I love this idea. You can easily store this and bring it back out every few weeks while you're cooking dinner or need to keep your little ones occupied for a while.

This is great! What contact lens wearer (or former contact lens wearer) doesn't have a few contact lens cases somewhere?! I never thought of that! besides me, there are 4 others in our household that wear contacts.. needless to say- we have tons of these hidden in drawers and bathroom cabinets!
My kids are older now, but my niece would love this! she already plays with the (unused) daily medicine reminders you get free at the pharmacy.. we play games with the days of the week, the letters, etc. when I get one right, she closes that lid.. or I get the prize she has stashed in one..(usually beads or pennies she has found lying around..LOL)
Anyway, thanks for the great idea~ now I know what to do with all of these!
What a great idea and way to use them. Another way you could use them would be for pills or perhaps seeds collected from the garden?
