BAG IT FORWARD -- ELMER'S SCHOOL SUPPLIES CAMPAIGN #bagitforward #Cbias

Summer is drawing to a near, time to go out and purchase all those awesome back to school supplies at Walmart! I had the opportunity to participate in the Bag it Foward program which is a program that you purchase school supplies for either school age children or teachers.

As homeschooling family we may have a different back to school supply list than public school children.  Students in schools are given a list of requirements they need to have for the school year as hoemschoolers we really do not have a list per say. I chose to make 3 tote bags for 3 special children. These 3 children lost their mother a few weeks ago to cancer. Their mom was a dear friend of mine. She homeschooled these children, she was very passionate about it too. Thankfully these children will still be homeschooled. My kids and I wanted to make them special bags with some school supplies and activities to start their new homeschooling year just right!

Items I added to their back to school tote bags were Elmer's glue sticks and bottled glue. I was amazed at how affordable these products were. Bottled glue or a 2 pack of glue sticks for 50 cents!  Unfortunately alot of children are not able to supply their own school supplies and teachers are having to purchase alot of their own supplies out of pocket. With such excellent prices Walmart offers on their school supplies maybe next time you do your back to school shopping at Walmart consider picking up a little bit extra to bless someone else in need.

Prior to my shop I had uploaded the new Elmer's 1st day App which I had used during my Walmart shopping trip. This app makes it easy to share photos, captions and even custom slides hows with family and friends. Celebrate your child’s 1st Day of school with Elmer’s FREE 1st Day app.

Here’s how it works:
CAPTURE - Snap photos of your kids on their 1st day of school from preschool to high school and beyond.
CREATE – Personalize each memory with quotes or captions, and organize them by date.

For every picture taken with the 1st day app, Elmer’s will donate one product to the Kids in Need Foundation. So just by sharing your 1st day photos with family and friends, you’ll help us reach our goal of 200,000 donated school supplies!

Other than the Elmer's glue items we purchased during our shop were colored pencils, markers, crayons, paper, pencil cases and activities/crafts.

My kids decided to make their friends a card in each of their bags and they also made each of them a beaded key chain to hook onto the shoulder strap of each tote bag, personalizing them and making them special. These children have endured so much this past year that my family just wanted to do something special for them.

We placed each of the items in each tote bag and delievered it to our friends. Hoping and praying for this family. Praying for their homeschool year, as it will be a difficult one with their mom gone.

How can you help a child (ren) or teacher this school year? Taking the time to show them that you care by purchasing some school supplies and putting them in a nice bag or basket. Little acts of kindness go a long way! Don't forget to use your new Elmer's 1st Day App - every picture loaded helps Kids in Need Foundation.

Right now the X-Acto Desinger Series and Walmart are offering a chance to win a trip for four to Disney World!  Entry form can be found on the 1st Day App
