TWIST ON EGG-IN-A-HOLE FOR MY KIDS

I am always looking for fun ways for my kids to eat breakfast or lunch. Here is the old classic called an egg-in-a-hole with my twist for my kids.

Bread
Cookie Cutters
Egg
Butter (I use light butter)

My boys chose car cookie cutters, stamp out the center of the bread with the cookie cutter.
Butter both sides of the bread and the area that you cut out. Then place in a pan on the stove and cook on middle heat till toasted on one side.
After flipping the bread to the other side add your egg the the center of the bread - my kids like scrambled eggs so I poured it in the bread while cooking.

Although the egg in the toast didn't show the outline of the car the kids still loved it and they got to eat the car shaped toast cut outs!

  11. good idea to use the shaped cutter! The cut outs (fried pieces of bread with salt and pepper) are always my favorites (my arteries hate me).

  19. How fun! Can u believe @ ages 38 & 43 hubby & I had never heard of Egg In A Hole until 6 months ago? It's now one of our favorite breakfasts! Hubby drizzles syrup on his. Our son is a teenager so hes to old for the cut outs. But I was thinking maybe hearts for Valentines Day, stars & Christmas tree shapes for Christmas would be neat to have!

  20. We make "Roar Toast" with dinosaur cookie cutters - just toast and jam with a dino cut out . It is one of my girls favorites these days.
