VEGGIETALES - DUKE AND THE GREAT PIE WAR LEARNING LAPBOOK REVIEW + GIVEAWAY

Looking for something that's out of the ordinary, creative, and educational? If so VeggieTales offers VeggieTales Lapbooks!

What is a Lapbook? Simply put: Scrapbooking with an educational twist. Lapbooks are wonderful, hands-on ways of creating a treasured keepsake. Instructions are easy to follow, and your child or student will learn while having fun!

We are very familiar with lapbooking and incorporate them into our homeschooling and were thrilled to have the opportunity to be able to review Duke and the Great Pie War Learning Lapbook.

We watched the DVD - Duke and the Great Pie War prior to starting our lapbook and then for a week before starting our homeschool curriculum we did daily devotionals that went hand in hand with the basis of this Bible story.

When the armies of Rhubarb go to battle against the Kingdom of Scone, the Great Pie War breaks out and things get really messy! Sweet Petunia, a charming young rhubarb, and the newest VeggieTales character, is forced to flee her homeland to protect her mother-in-law, Nona (Madame Blueberry). When the Duke (Larry the Cucumber), learns of the Princess' plight, he risks his life to help her and learns that true love means thinking of others first. This lesson in love is based on the biblical story of Ruth and Naomi.

Includes:
26 pages
Requires 2 folders
does not come with the DVD (Duke and the Great Pie War)
Sells for $21.00

My 7 year old, 5 year old and 3 year old children collaborated on this lapbook together. Most of the coloring was done my 3 and 5 year old and the writing portions done by my 7 year old. If your child does not write or prefers not to write, we have answer boxes in the back of the lapbook pages that your child can cut out and glue into the booklets. You might prefer to turn the answer boxes into stickers by printing them on a sheet of sticker paper. In some cases, your child can even draw the answer.

Instead of using 2 Manila folders I used 3 and glued them together. We added all the extra pages this lapbbok offers to the very backside.

This lapbook includes the Biblical story that pertains to the lapbbok.

My children really enjoyed collaborating together doing this lapbbok and the Bible story. With 4 children I thought this was a perfect lesson for my children to learn the importance of family and how God wants us to love one another.

VegglieTales also offers other Learning Lapbooks: LarryBoy and the Rumor Weed Veggie Lapbook. Esther Veggie Lapbook and It's a Meaningful Life Veggie Lapbook.  Stock up on these fantastic Learning Lapbooks and take advantage of FREE shipping on orders $30.00 and more!
