Let it snow! (Day 3)

I had planned on a short homeschool day because we were going on a scavenger hunt at our nature center with our homeschool group but Jumping Bean has a runny nose, so we are homebound. I quickly had to come up with some other things to keep them busy!

Continuing our snow them, we read the following books:
Snowbaby Could Not Sleep
Max & Mo Make a Snowman

Then the boys did a snowman craft on the front of a papertowel roll. JJ traced 3 circles for the snowman, we made eyes, nose, arms & mouth of of construction paper & glued them onto the papertowel roll. Then out of left over fleece scrapes we glued a scarf. For the hat I cut out pieces from the egg carton.

Then I had the boys put together a snowman, a beach ball snowman! Other than crafts I thought the beach balls would be more on a real scale. I made eyes, nose, bottons & mouth out of paper & then had them take turns taping them onto the balls then they put it together (held by packing tape). Finally we added a ballcap for a hat!

Other activities we did:
File folder fun (hot cold - Science)

Then we made banana snowmen. I made up a sheet that had pictures of what I wanted my preschooler to do, how to make a banana snowman. I wanted him to follow directions.

Snowball math (I put out cotton balls so my son could use them as counters) I wrote out math problems on a dry erase board for him to solve.

Be sure to come back for Day 4 (our final day) of our snow adventures!
