Tot Teachin' week of 1/11/10

Week of 1/11/10 - WE HAD A VERY BUSY WEEK!

This was a very busy week for us, Jumping Bean has been potty training himself since October but with going out of town several times and Christmas I decided to offically wait. No more waiting - he is ready! So this is the 1st week he wore training pants! I decided to have him wear them when we are home, then when we are out until he is fully potty trained he will continue to wear his cloth diapers.

Yeah! Jumping Bean in his training pants!

Jumping Bean has his own Bible I read to him everyday but he sits & listens to his older brother & I read his Bible. We are currently reading about Moses (Exodus 2:1-4). Since my older son did a craft, I had Jumping Bean do the craft aswell. This was taken from Christian preschool printables

He colored Moses in the basket, I traced his hands then he glued them around the basket. The hands are supposed to be the reeds in the water.
Then from the same link I printed off the Moses color match cards ( I printed them in color to save onink & colored them myself).

Ourweek lesson on Let it snow!

1/11/10

Putting snowman together from felt (homemade by mama)

My crazy idea of "indoor snow", shredded paper in a inflatable pool. Since it does not snow here I made "pretend snow" they had fun but what a mess! My carpet was covered w/ shredded paper & took forever to get it up!

Button match to color paint swatches from the hardware store.

Jumping Bean LOVES to read to his baby sister, it's cute to hear him try to read.

Putting "snowballs" (cotton balls) on the snowman circle spots - printed off of Child Care Land

Making snowman craft on the front of a papertowel holder

Making banana snowmen (banana's for body, chocolate chips - eyes & buttons, pretzels - arms, cake gel- mouth)

Sensory box made w/ shredded paper, I put animals that live in the snow in the bin & he looked for them.

Jumping bean putting his embellishments in his I-Spy snowman bottle. Made with shredded paper & crystalized stickers.

Looking for his snowmen in his I-Spy bottle.

Playtime

As you can tell my tot LOVES Superman, the cape is his brothers & he wears it all the time - he even tries to wear it while he is sleeping. I made him his own for Christmas but nope he wants to wear his brothers. He calls it his Dooperman cape.

  4. Oh wow, there's so many great activities here! I was *just* looking for a good Moses craft or activity, so thank you very much for the link!! It's perfect! Also, I love the button and paint sample matching! The snowflake painting is beautiful, and what a wonderful mom you are to let them play with shredded paper. :) I can just imagine the mess (although quite often it is SO worth the clean up for the amount of enjoyment they get!). And yay for the training pants - what an adorable picture! Thank you for following my blog; I'm now your follower too. :)
