JumpStart REVIEW AND GIVEAWAY

In addition to CD games, JumpStart launched a browser-based virtual world for kids 3-10 years old. Kids can create avatars called Jumpeez for themselves and explore magical worlds, discovering and unlocking games, videos and storybooks that teach everything from math to reading. Over the next year, they will continue to add more features, portals and learning games to their site.

 

JumpStart is an award-winning adventure-based 3D virtual world that is super-personalized, wildly imaginative and really fun, but don't let that fool you - it also teaches math, reading, and critical thinking skills so kids get a real jump start in life.

There are many places to explore once you launch the game. The first is an area called StoryLand which is aimed at 3-5 year olds.  For children in kindergarten to 2nd grade, there is AdventureLand and the recently released MarineLand, an underwater adventure. We also just launched another area called FutureLand for kids from 3rd to 5th grade.

My  preschooler (soon to be 5 years old at the end of the month) really enjoyed playing JumpStart. He has learned so much playing these games: computer skills, the coins taught him the value of money, creative skills designing his avatar as well as the educational games - reading and math. My son's only fusteration with these games is that to play a new game you have to wait for each one to load but a homeschool mom I love to find creative fun ways to teach my son without him at times realizing that he is learning! Playing the JumpStart games he was definitely learning! I will definitely incorporate JumpStart into our weekly homeschooling! My 2 boys both sat at the computer, my oldest playing and showing his 2 year old brother how to play!

My preschooler loved his 1st purchase with his coins - a dragon for a pet and then a skateboard for his ride. Plus I was able to sign up on JumpStart's FACEBOOK  page and received an additional 400 coins plus 80 more coins for inviting some of my Facebook friends to sign up! This concept of using coins as rewards is a great concept. It teaches children the concept of money (math) and spending. I haven't taught my son offically about money but this is a great introductory of learning it!
