Textures Part 1

Jumping Bean is 31 months
Baby Cat is 11 months (her 1st birthday is 4/17)!

This week was learning about textures, here are a few activities we did:

I made my kids a TEXTURE BOX.
Using different materials with different textures, had them each pull out items and feel them. With my preschooler I had him tell me was it soft, bumpy, hard, etc.

At the Science Museum this week my tot reached in the touch boxes to feel the hard textures (brain coral, etc.)
Then I laid out some carpet samples that have different textures and had my oldest tot them me the textures.

For fun......... (Some of my favorite pics from this week)

We had a late Easter party w/ one of our homeschool groups, here Jumping Bean decided to wear his Easter basket over his head

Baby Cat taking a snooze in her stroller at the Science Museum

Check back in a few weeks for part 2 of our texture activities!

  1. I love your texture box. I made a texture bear book for next week's tot school. Little Sweets got a hold of it while I was making it and tried to rip all the bears off the pages. Maybe a texture box would have been a better idea.
