WHY DO THEY HAVE TO GROW UP SO FAST?

My oldest boy is 5 (turned 5 in April), last night as he was brushing his teeth getting ready for bed he broke the news to me................his tooth was loose. I thought no way he's only 5! Sure enough as he wiggled it around it was loose! WOW! It seems like yesterday he just got those baby teeth! So as I suspect by the end of the week the tooth will fall out - it's pretty loose. I don't know if it's my pregnancy hormones or if it's just my sentimental mothering side of me but I cried! My boy is getting so big --- the questions are coming too like "why are there so many flowers over there" as we pass a cemetary - it's time to start realizing my sweet baby boy is turning into a young man & it's time to face these questions & stages of his little life. But how? Makes me sad! I cry as I type this up - amazed how quick time flies! Please tell me I am not the only crazy mom out there! :) I am so thankful for each day God gives me with these sweet little blessings!

  2. The first loose tooth always takes me by surprise. I am holding my breath for Braden (he is 5 as well) to tell me he has a loose tooth.

  3. Awww... big boy! Jake has so many little friends who have lost their teeth at 5 and even 4 years old. He just got new molars, but no loose teeth yet. How exciting!

  5. My oldest was just told that she may need her wisdom teeth out. It's definitely different than the "Mom of little ones" days, but still just as fun.

  6. Oh my goodness Nicole, I know exactly how you feel! Mine are 17, 9, 4 and 18 months. My third just turned 4 and I hadn't even thought about loose teeth. I better prepare for next yr. I'll be in tears even if I'm not pregnant. lol *hugs mama*

  8. No sweetie you are not alone. I cried at EVERY stage my daughters went through. When my oldest turned 18, my youngest graduated high school early at 16 and wanted to move out on her own! I thought I was going to fall into a dark whole of Empty Nest Syndrome big time.

My advice as someone who was totally caught off-guard by they 'next' stages...Enjoy every single moment (and stage) to its fullest. There are lots of them...hang on tight, lol.

Hugs to you, and Congrats to him for that first tooth!

  9. I must say this every day. My oldest is nearly 13. Seriously it's hard for me even to type that now. It flies by so quickly. I have to remember to cherish every moment.

Even at 12, 9 & 7 years old- the loose tooth never gets old. I get excited for each of them each and every time.
