NEW PRAISE REPORT ABOUT THE NEW BABY!

What can I say other than I have an awesome God! I took the baby for his follow up appointment today instead of my husband. God heard all of our prayers and He is faithful!

Baby Squeekers jaundice levels went from 18.9 yesterday to 12.6 today AND I only gave him less than 2 newborn size formula bottles, I nursed him the rest of the time. I am thankful God gave me wisdom NOT to cave and stuck to my guns on the breastfeeding and NOT to stop nursing and to only bottle feed per doctors orders.

Plus he is off the Billirubin lights - I get to wear him in his baby sling now! Yipee! The doctor who BTW is not our normal peditrican (our doctor is on vacation) insists it was the formula, I know it wasn't - it was an answer to prayers! Nomore appointments for jaundice, I will continue to nurse more frequently and put him in the natural sunlight for the next few days. His levels should continue to drop!

Thank you all for your encouraging words, kind comments and prayers.

  9. Yay! You made the right decisions all around! You have a healthy baby, you kept him out of the hospital, and have managed to establish a healthy breastfeeding pattern, that is all that matters. Two bottles of formula will seem so insignificant in one years time. Whether or not the formula actually helped doesn't even matter now. I hate when doctors start bossing your around with newborns. I had to stay an extra night in the hospital because my daughter's temp had dropped in the middle of the night the first night. I kept telling the pediatrician it was because I let the nurse convince me to swaddle her and put her in her bassinet instead of maintaining skin to skin contact, but the pediatrician made it seem like if I tried to go home, they'd try to take the baby away. Then they went gaga when my milk didn't come in right away and tried to pressure me to supplement. Errrr!
