For our Rice Sensory Bin, I purchased several Valentine's items
I hid all these items throughout the sensory bin

Erasers
Red and pink pom poms
foam heart stickers that I stuck both sticky sides together

Heart comtainers (where I hid some of the items in the containers and then in the rice bin)
Valentine's cards which I cut up and laminated & made into puzzles (hid the pieces in the bin and then when they found all the pieces they put the puzzles together.
Then we made Valentine's tasty treats! Using tortilla shells and heart cookie cutters! Cut out the hearts, spary with cooking spray & sprinkle with sugar sprinkles!
Bake at 400 for 5 minutes.
Sorting buttons by color and size in heart shaped ice cube trays.
My tot is placing the buttons in the hearts
My boys made these hats at CBS (Community Bible Study) this week
I am a new follower of you blog! These are great ideas, I love the tortilla hearts! I will have to do that with my boys.
ReplyDeleteThose are some great ideas! I'm forever pouring beans or rice from a cookie sheet back into a baggie. I need to invest in a storage container like yours so I can keep those sensory materials ready to go!

I love the sensory bin and every thing you put in. The tortilla hearts look perfect for Monday's Red/Valentines Day muffin tin. I have seen so many great activities and treats as I check out the posts that others have linked up to my Valentines linky and JDaniel4's Mom's. And now I found your post.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend
Blessings

ReplyDeleteThank you so much for linking to the Virtual Valentine’s Day Party on my blog. Please take a moment between now and the end of the party Monday night to visit a few of the other party guests. I would love to everyone who linked up to have other guests stop by for a visit.
Remember if you visit two guests and leave me a comment that you did you could win a $15 Visa Gift Card.
I L-O-V-E the tortilla heart cutouts! So simple - the toddler can do it all (except put in the oven). We're definitely doing that!

Yours is the second post I've seen using ice cube trays for sorting. Such a neat idea. I don't have pre-schoolers, but I wonder if my 7 year old daughter would be into it? Great post. Thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteThe tortilla hearts are such a great idea! A little sweet, but still healthy!
ReplyDeleteLove how your heart bin has varying levels of difficulty with the puzzles in there... And I seriously need to pick up a heart ice cube tray somewhere - those are so versatile. Sweet hats, too!
