1) Do your homework 1st - map out which boothes you want to go to and which workshops you would like to hear that way when you get there you are not frazzled. Have a plan! Then write your plan down and bring it with you!
2) Bring address labels, with plenty of exhibits I am sure there will be raffles and newsletters to sign up for why handwrite it all out?!
3) Bring a pen and pad, why? Because you may want to jot your thoughts down on paper wbout curriculums you see for the following year, maybe you want to see if you can find the item (s) for a cheaper price like amazon, vegsource, e-bay, etc. Take notes in the workshops, etc.
4) Wear comfortable shoes. The convention I am going to has over 1300 boothes so I will be doing quite a bit of walking for a few days plus maybe moms will have babies in strollers and with the business you do not want your feet trampled on!

5) Bring snacks / water if possible, this will cut down on spending! Curriculum gets expensive enough why spend it on extra items if you do not have to!
6) I highly recommend if you are not using a baby in stroller, than to get a crate on wheels with the lid. My experience in the past using a tote bag has been tiredsome. Office Depot sells them for very reasonable prices.
What do you bring to homeschool conventions? What are your tips? Please leave a comment and share, I am still fairly new at this! Thanks!

Love the idea about address labels ~ that could apply to most any conventions you go to! Great idea!!
ReplyDeleteHow do you find out about the home school conventions? I would like to go to one but not sure where to find when and where they take place. Great tips!
