BACK TO BETHLEHEM (WORDLESS WEDNESDAY W/ LINKY)

Over the weekend my family for the 1st time went to Back to Bethelem.  You walk back through time to Bethelehem! Entering  a city constructed to look like Bethlehem as it appeared 2,000 years ago and experience what that most important night in our history may have been like.  Nearly 100 actors bring Bethlehem to life using careful research of scripture and historical tradition to create an authentic representation of the customs and dress of this era.
It was awesome, great for my children to have the visual to go with what they learn! Here are some pictures I took.

 The Roman Soliders
The Census - which the men signed - my husband signed our family name
My 6 year old petting a chicken                           Carpenter

Birth of Jesus with Mary, Joseph and Angels

Star of Bethlehem
"She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”
A picture of my family (minus the baby who was sleeping in the stroller) with a Roman soldier.

  6. Very cool. I've actually been to Bethelem. It looked like a desert waste land, but that was twenty-five years ago. They've probably commercialized it by now.
