WINTER THEME SENSORY BIN

My preschooler and toddler love sensory bins, so I made a winter theme sensory bin using items from around our home.

packing peanuts (I told them it was pretend snow)
white craft pom poms
polar bear game piece from Polar Bear A-B-C
a snowman cookie tin we got during Christmas
misc. cups and sorters
animals that live in the snow learning cards
snowflake foam stampers
little tongs for both kids

We love these bins, they teach creative play, imagination, sensory, motor skills and so much more. I like to make one for different themes, I will be doing a Valentine's Day one so stay tuned next month!

  1. cute! Looks like fun. I think cotton balls would be good as well. My little man makes such a mess with packing peanuts.

  2. How fun! I would love for you to come share it at my new linky party for trays (and bins)! Would you believe we don't have a single cotton ball or packing peanut in the house?! To the dollar store I go!

  3. How fun! I thought about packing peanuts, but everything I ordered this year came wrapped in bubble wrap, so I went another direction! I just put out our Winter sensory tub today!

  4. I love the tongs used for transferring! Do you remember where you got them? Today I introduced a transferring activity to my 18 month old. :)

  5. Thank you so much for linking up! I finally have our bin and trays ready, just haven't had time to post yet! I decided to go with cotton balls rather than packing peanuts. I can't handle the static right now with all the fleece we like to wear :)

  8. Great Sensory tub. I like how you included tongs so your little ones can practice fine motor skills as well as well as engage in dramatic play. I am hosting a fun, frugal, kid-friendly linky party and would love it if you linked up. www.funfrugalmommy.blogspot.com
