FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT WITH BACK TO THE SEA & FISH FRUIT SHAPE KABOBS #Cbias #Socialfabric #CouchCritics

I have never rented movies or games before from Redbox until this weekend. It was a very pleasant experience. I was able to go on-line and reserve Back to the Sea on DVD at our local Redbox location. What an easy way to rent a movie!

My family wanted to have a movie night and gather around in our living room and watch Back to the Sea. I wanted to make fun snacks to go with the movie so at Walmart we picked up fresh produce to make fish shaped fruit kabobs.

We purchased cantaloupe, watermelon, strawberries, apples and bananas.

Once home I made several different "fruit fish".

Using an apple slice as the tail, watermelon oval shape and a strawberry half as the body, a cantaloupe chunk for the head. I also used peanut butter to keep the strawberry fish fin on as well as the strawberry for the eye.

I made them in different variations. The shark with an apple slice for the tail, I cut a banana piece in half for the body and cantaloupe face and strawberry eye. The other fish were made very similar, with apple tails, strawberry halves and watermelon oval shapes as the bodies and cantaloupe chunks for the face with strawberry fins and eye.

Then we gathered in our living room and ate our fish shaped fruit kabobs and watched Back to Sea.

My kids loved these and were asking for more! This was their first time eating fruit off of kabobs and I am sure it will not be the last! I plan on making them again soon!

Then we sat down and watched Back to the Sea on DVD. Back to the Sea is a movie touching story of a heroic fish's journey home. Kevin wants to prove that he is no small fish in the see when he tries to make a completion with a fellow fish (Richard) to swim near a rock near the harbor.  When little fish Kevin is swept up in a net and taken from his home in the oceans to the small glass fish tank of a New York restaurant, he must find a way to escape and make his way back home to his family. With his new friends and with the help of his trusted human companion, the restaurant owner's son, Kevin embarks on the journey of his life.

The movie was a bit slow and seemed to be a take off of Finding Nemo. The movie had a lot of positive key points such as friendship, the importance to obeying our parents and being yourself and not trying to be something your not. The ending of the movie was heartfelt and encouraging. We give this a couch critic rating of 3 out of 5!

We had a fun evening in our home with healthy yummy snacks and watching a fun movie! We will be doing more family fun movie nights periodically, it was definitely a hit in our home!
