As a homeschool mom I like to not just teach my children the basics but other subjects that I find beneficial for them to learn, such as Spanish. I have tried several curriculum's but have never been successful with my children retaining the information. Until we started using Song School Spanish!
Song School Spanish features thirty weekly lessons seasoned with songs, enjoyable vocabulary, illustrations, handwriting practice, stories, games, and activities. A small amount of grammar is introduced mildly throughout the book, with the focus on relevant, everyday vocabulary to engage young students. Each book contains a fun musical CD featuring forty-two songs/chants.
~ Grade level: Kindergarten through 3rd grade.
~ Accompanying children’s music CD (42 songs) bound in to each student ext ~ Interactive workbook text with lots of activities.
~ 30 weekly lessons including review chapters.
~ 100+ everyday vocabulary words.
~ Gentle introduction to Spanish grammar

I particularly like that a Teacher's Edition book is offered for Song School Spanish! The books includes the entire Song School Spanish student text, answer keys, additional teacher’s notes and fun ideas for interactive classroom activities.
The past Spanish curriculum's our family has used have started off with colors, numbers and shapes. In my opinion these curriculum's have been watered down. Song School Spanish starts with Greeting Words and Alphabet sounds which I find more essential in learning languages more so then color's, shapes and numbers.
Not only were my 7 and 5 year old receptive to the singing in Spanish but so were my 2 and 3 year old. Once I placed the CD in the player they stood next to our homeschool area and participated! The biggest benefit of this curriculum is that it is super fun for children and it leaves and everlasting impression on children which helps them to remember what they learned!
I highly recommend this Spanish curriculum to all homeschoolers and non-homeschoolers. The Song School Spanish sells for $24.95 and the Teacher's Edition Book sells for $24.95, both books can be purchased directly from Classical Academic Press.
