My 3 year old daughter has been through so much in her few years of life. From asthma and allergies. Last year she was hospitalized with pneumonia, partial collapsed lung, RSV and asthma. Since then she has come very close to going back to the hospital. Typically every 3 weeks or so she gets sick. Not just with a runny nose but sneezing, coughing and wheezing which most times requires a nebulizer treatment.
I typically have relied on homeopathic remedies such as Elderberry, Probiotics and Echinacea based products and 1,000 MG of Vitamin C daily. Watching her diet and limiting her sugar intake. These remedies worked for months and months. She wasn't sick and was doing great until a few months ago it seemed like these remedies stopped working! Now she is sick every few weeks.
I am sure this time of the year has a lot to do with it and her sucking her thumb constantly is another problem of her getting sick so frequently. So now I have turned back to the doctor and started her on a daily nebulizer maintenance which will help prevent pneumonia and bronchitis.
Familiarizing myself with products on the market I find myself drawn to Little Remedies products. I am a big advocate on not giving children products with dyes, alcohol and artificial flavorings. The great thing about Little Remedies is that their products are made with the fewest ingredients so why do other companies feel the need to use so many harmful ingredients in children's products? That's what makes Little Remedies so unique!
Little Remedies offers so many great products for noses, tummy's, fevers to colds. For this time of the year I recommend Little Remedies For Colds Honey Elixir. The honey coats the throat, soothing the throat and cough along the way.

To reduce fevers or pains Little Remedies For Fevers Infant Fever Pain Reliever.

Until now I didn't know that they had fever / pain relievers that didn't contain alcohol and dyes. What a relief and reassuring to know that their are products designed to help children without all the harmful ingredients!
With what our family has gone through with my daughter I recommend the following tips to avoid germs and to help the healing process of colds and flu:
Wash hands for at least 30 seconds.
Keep hands off your face.
When coughing cough in your sleeve or on your arm.
Wash your hands if sneezing in your hands or coughing.
Avoid large crowds or avoid being around sick people.
When sick use more natural products such as Little Remedies for your children verses products full of harmful ingredients.
Get a lot of rest.

Ugh, it seems like we can't get over the crud and their products are great.
ReplyDeletewe have used these products before especially the nasal spray love them
ReplyDeleteThis is the first I have heard of this brand, but I like how they use natural ingredients, and have such a wide selection! I am sending this link to my sister since she has her first baby and these would be good for her to know about!
ReplyDeleteMy oldest daughter is 5 and an asthmatic, as well. It's a hard road for such little ones to travel. We have finally gotten a good prophylactic treatment plan for her, that includes daily meds and a rescue inhaler. We love little remedies here because they do not interact with her other medications. This was a great review!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Little Remedies! Love them! They are the first brand I turn to when my little ones are sick. I'm just frustrated because our stores have started to carry less and less of a variety of their products, not more. It makes me angry. I want access to all the little remedies! Like that baby rub! I would SO have bought that this week had our stored carried it. My daughter has a horrible cold.
ReplyDeleteI have used Little Remedies many times over the years for my daughters. It works great and fast!
ReplyDeleteI've used these before (well all except the fever reducer) mostly the honey elixir and they've always worked good for us. Some of these I have not seen before though, thanks for the info.
ReplyDeleteI hate it when my kids get sick it makes me so sad for them.
ReplyDeleteI can unfortunately relate with your poor daughter; being chronically ill, you've got to watch it wherever you go! Especially this time of year >.<
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't wish that on anyone, let alone a little girl such as yours.
I also have a very high tolerance when it comes to medications and treatments so I can't take something for more than a couple days otherwise it'll stop working.
We love these products! We use the Saline for stuffy noses and congestion and it really helps.

This looks like a great product. I'll be sharing the info with my sister.
ReplyDeleteWe usually spend twice as long in the pharmacy perusing the kids' medicines than we would for ourselves. I haven't tried the Honey Elixir yet, but love how simple the Little Remedies products are.
ReplyDeletethank you for sharing your struggle with your LO's health, and how these products helped! I share your desire for dye-free things. <3 I will check them out (so far we've used the saline, but that's about it)
