LIL SNAPPERS KID SIZE FRUIT - PERFECT FOR ANYTIME OF THE DAY!

My kids love fruit! I am very thankful because they are getting a healthy snack verses sugary processed foods. Our refrigerator is constantly stocked with fresh produce. Since we homeschool we are home quite a bit and my kids ask for snacks so I either give them fresh fruit or a make them a smoothie packed with vegetables and fruit. This has been a lifestyle change because I used to be quick to give them "junk" but after educating myself of the ingredients in these foods we have quickly made the change to vegetables and fruits.

Too often when I purchase produce it has gotten wasted by my two little ones. Apples and oranges tend to be the size of my fist and I find that no matter how delicious these look at the store it's just too big for my kids. So what's the solution?

Lil Snappers is a the perfect size --- kid size fruit! No more wasting! Lil Snappers are premium, kid-sized fruits packaged in 3 pound bags produced by Sunkist and Stemilt  Growers. Providing 20 different varieties including organic varieties! These delicious fruits are packaged in re-sealable bags that stand up in the refrigerator for easy access.

We sampled 4 varieties of Lil Snappers:

Pink Lady Apples Lil Snappers grown in Washington state by Stemilt Growers.
This was the first time my kids had ever had Pink Lady Apples and after trying them they will never want any other variety apple! They were crisp, sweet and delicious. Available October through July.

Cara Cara Navel Oranges Lil Snappers are grown in California and Arizona by Sunkist. Packed with 30% more Vitamin A and 20% more Vitamin C than a regular navel orange! Plus they provide 100% of daily Vitamin C requirements in one orange! Vitamin C is very important in our home. My 3 year old has asthma and any cold triggers her asthma so I am constantly loading my children with Vitamin C - that's what makes the Cara Cara Navel Orange so incredible because kids can get all the Vitamin C just by this fruit alone! Giving a sweet and cranberry-like taste! Cara Cara Navel Oranges are available from December through May.

Minneola Tangelos  are grown in California and Arizona by Sunkist. They also provide a 100% of Vitamin C requirements and an excellent source of folate. The Minneloa Tangelo is a hybrid of a grapefruit and a tangerine which leaves a bold, tangy tart-sweet flavor! Available December through April.

My kids ultimate favorite is the California Mandarin's! grown in California and Arizona by Sunkist. Provides your kids with an excellent source of not just Vitamin C but fiber and folate too! My kids particularly enjoy this sweet and juicy fruit the most not just because of the taste but because they can peel it all my themselves, making it an easy and fast snack! Available December through April.

Not only do my children enjoy Lil Snappers fruits all by themselves but they enjoy them in smoothies and fruit salad. Lil Snappers has a recipe tab on their page with fun fruit snacks you can make for your children.

One of them being Fruity Twirls, I made my own modified version into a fruit salad.

Ingredients:

3 Minneola Tangelos
5 California Mandarin's
2 Pink Lady Apples Sliced
10 Large Strawberries Cut in Half
2 Cara Cara Navel Oranges

Very simple to make, great to make with your children! Have them help you peel and place them in a bowl while you cut up the Pink Lady Apples and Strawberries. Have your child mix it all together to make this beautiful, tasty fruit salad!

Your child can have even more fun by going to the fun and games tab where you can find coloring pages and other games.

Lil Snappers is currently available in Louisiana (New Orleans), Florida (Jacksonville) and North Carolina at the following locations:

  2. Your house sounds about like ours. I love having fresh produce around, but I have found more than my fair share of a few bite apples ;) so we live on cuties. You are a lifesaver for sharing kid-sized fruit!

  3. Those are awesome! I am going to look for them at Publix next time I go. My kids would love fruit their size because we have the same problem as you with fruit being wasted because apples and oranges are just too big for them to eat.

  6. Those look perfect for my little ones! They can never eat a full sized adult fruit. It's always too much and then have left overs. but these are the perfect size for them.
