Movie Synopsis

Josh Duhamel and Julianne Hough star in this spellbinding romantic drama based on the novel by best-selling author Nicholas Sparks (The Notebook). When a mysterious, beautiful woman named Katie (Hough), moves to Southport, North Carolina, she sparks the interest of the locals, especially Alex (Duhamel), a handsome widower. Although she is attracted to Alex, Katie is reluctant to trust him – that is, until a new friend (Cobie Smulders) convinces her to give Alex a chance. But before long, a dark secret from Katie’s past threatens her happiness in this thrilling romance directed by Lasse Hallström (Dear John).

Safe Haven is an powerful suspenseful story about a young woman’s struggle to find love again after she arrives in a small North Carolina town. Her reluctance to join the tight-knit community raises questions about her past. After sometime, she begins getting settled in with the community and gains the courage to start a relationship with Alex, a widowed store owner with two young children. But then her dark secrets invade on her new life with such horror that she is forced to rediscover the meaning of sacrifice and rely on the power of love in this deeply moving romantic thriller. I love this movie! Safe Haven is definitely a cliff hanger, leaving you on the edge of your seat and wanting more! A romance and suspenseful movie all rolled into one! Just when I thought I had the ending figured out there was a huge twist at the end! This is definitely a movie I will be recommending to all my friends and family!
