OUR EPIC THE MOVIE CAMPING PARTY #EPICDAY

I wrote this post on behalf of Twentieth Century Fox and their PR Company. I received Epic products to facilitate my Epic camping party. This is not a sponsored review and all views and opinions are of my own and were not influenced in anyway.

Our family had an Epic weekend! To celebrate the release of Epic the movie (Available on Blu-ray, DVD, Amazon and DigitalHD on August 20th). We invited some friends over and had an Epic camping party. Due to weather circumstances we had our camping party indoors but that didn't stop us from having fun!

On the dinner menu was homemade chicken wings, veggie sticks and fruit kabobs.

The kids and adults gathered around and enjoyed a meal together. While eating dinner I could hear the kids talking to each other about how excited they were to get to watch Epic. I was excited for them and couldn't wait to hear their thoughts about the movie after they viewed it.

After dinner I passed the kids Epic goodie bags out. Which contained a flash light with batteries, a bug catcher, magnifying glass, an Epic planter with basil seeds and a soil tablet,  hot cocoa and a mug.

The kids all took out their Epic planters and we sat outside and the kids went to work on preparing their plants. They dropped their soil tablets in their planters and added water then they mixed up the soil added the basil seeds and covered them back up with soil.
The kids were all set for their basil plants to grow!

Next, back indoors we played Bug Bingo in the tent!

Then for the grand finale.................. The viewing of Epic! The kids gathered in the tent and watched Epic on my iPad from iTunes.

While the kids watched the movie I could hear the boys being typical boys ranting and raving about the sword fight scenes. Through out the movie I heard several ooh's and awe's!

Half way through the movie we paused and eat a typical camping desert - s'mores! Since we had our camping party was indoors we made the s'mores in the oven but the kids did not seem to mind!

When the movie ended the kids told the parents how much they enjoyed the movie. The kids said the movie was full of adventure, excitement and suspense!  Epic offered something for both the boys and girls.  For the boys, they loved the swords and the battle of good vs. evil.  For the girls, they enjoyed the vibrant colors, beautiful scenery and plenty of whimsical wood creatures (insects).

If you are not familiar with Epic the movie, it's created by the creators of Ice Age. A synopsis of the movie: Transported to a mysterious world, a teenager (Amanda Seyfried) is recruited by nature, Queen Tara (BeyoncĂ© Knowles), to help the “Leafmen” save their existence – and ours – from evil warriors. The whole family will love this fast-paced thrill-ride, with its astonishing animation and an all-star voice cast that includes Colin Farrell, Oscar Winner Christoph Waltz and Steven Tyler!

  8. Looks like fun. I personally thought the movie was a mix of Honey I shrunk the kids and the Spiderwick Chronicles, with great writing to make it very funny! Plus I got to interview everyone but Beyonce!
