Geoboard

I saw this idea on Mama Jenn & I thought the idea was great so I asked my husband if he could make one for our boys. Being that he is over the furniture line at his work he was able to bring home a large laminated square (19 X 15 1/2) piece of wood, this size is nice & big - perfect for both my boys to play at the same time! I has happy because I didn't have to paint it (no fumes  neither!). Then he took nails, nailed them in the wood leaving about 1 inch sticking out.  Then using multi-colored large rubberbaids & small thin rubbermaids they can make all kinds of shapes, etc. My toddler is learning is shapes & this is working nicely for him (supervision suggested).

  3. Thanks for leaving a comment on our blog! We got the Funtastic Frog counters from Rainbow Resource, but Amazon has them too. You can even get books full of activities to go with!

  4. As a former math teacher, I actually have 2 of these, but I never thought about getting them out. After seeing this, I showed it to him, and he immediately wanted to play. He's now trying to create letters on it, and tracing them! (He doesn't care for the sandpaper letters, so this perfect for reinforcing how to form the letters.)

  5. I loved Jenn's geoboard too and tried to make one with a corkboard, but needless to say it did not last long. I need to either buy one or make a nice one like yours - it looks great!
