THE LAST OF OUR THANKSGIVING ACTIVITIES

JJ - 5 Years
Jumping Bean - 40 months
Baby Cat - 19 months

This week is a light homeschool week for us, my kids & I have have little colds & with Thanksgiving almost here I decided to do "fun activities" instead. Here are a few of the last Thanksgiving activities for this year that we worked on this week.

With our homeschool group - I read the kids The Thanksgiving Bowl book and then we accompanied it with this recycled turkey craft.

Materials needed:
toliet paper roll
glue
paint swatches from the hardware store
stapler

Directions:
I cut out the feathers 1st, stapled them together then the kids wrote what they were thankful for on each turkey feather.
Then I stapled them to the toliet paper roll
I made the beak then had them glue them on the roll
The eyes I just used my hole puncher to make the eyes, the kids glued them on!

JJ made a Lego turkey, I found the directions HERE. My son LOVES Lego's - this was a good follow directions lesson. (We didn't have the brown Lego's that the directions called for so we used the yellow one's instead).

We made Native American Bands, I cut construction paper in 3 strips, hand cut feathers. They colored their bands and glued feathers to the paper feathers.
Baby Cat wearing her older brother's band!

Now it's time to start working on Christmas activities -- please check back weekly to see what we are up to!

We link up weekly at the following awesome homeschool blogs!

  3. Those turkey crowns are too cute! Or maybe it's the kids that are modeling them that are cute - probably both! Thanks for sharing the tp roll idea...I'm always on the lookout for crafts that I already have the supplies for!
