We were out on our patio 2 days ago and found a caterpillar, so I scooped him up and put him in our bug catcher with a stick wedged inside hoping it would turn into a crystalis, guess what, it did!
This all within 2 days! same caterpillar!
Then yesterday we found another caterpillar - same species! Look at him!
This morning it started thrashing back and forth and than it's head fell off! What a blessing to get to watch!
Looking forward to watching the full cycle & releasing them! I have to go out & get a butterfly house!
That is cool!! My daughter's preschool class does that sometimes. Can't wait to see more pictures!
ReplyDeleteI'm debating about what sort of bug we want to order to watch change this year.

ReplyDeleteVery cool!!
ReplyDeleteI love your photos. This is a very exciting experience for kids and I think it is wonderful how you have documented it.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love sharing the joy of watching a caterpillar change to a butterfly. We were blessed too last fall with a Monarch. My link is below in case you're interested! Happy watching!
