HOMEMADE SCIENCE FUN

I get a kick out of kids, they are so creative! After one of our Mystery of History co-ops recently the boys decided to make their own "sand". This was all their own idea, they were taking large rocks from my friend April's backyard and smashing them into fine sand like material than putting it in a cup with just enough water to make mud, they said it was this the mud in the "ocean". They even had little medicine type droppers they were using the get just the right amount of water to make the "mud"! Than with the mud they wanted to catch lizards and mark them with the mud on their backs so that when they catch them they will know if they already caught them previously since they "marked" them. I know the older boys had the idea and the influence on the younger kids including my own but I thought it was a great little science experiment!

By the way I never saw any of the lizards, I think they spent the whole time making the "mud" and not trying to catch the lizards!

  1. It's so much fun to see kids get creative and try things for themselves.
