HOMESCHOOL CURRICULUM PURCHASED @ CONVENTION, ETC. (lots of pictures!)

FPEA homeschool convention was over the weekend, what a blessing! It was my 1st time going to this particular convention. My schedule was jam packed with workshops. I heard some really great speakers, with baby in tow I went from workshop to workshop where I was encouraged and blessed. God really opened up my eyes to my homeschooling and the direction He wants me to go in. Totally what I was not expecting, things I thought I would be participating in for my son (as he will start 1st grade) God made it clear that some of those things I planned on are not the direction for my family. So my summer will be a prayerful summer for His direction (co-ops, classes, etc.) I am excited to see what He has in store!

Here are my purchases from convention.

The whole Draw Write Now Set, Around the World Coloring book from Dover (I am using it to go wtih our Galloping the Globe), Tracing paper, smaller Dover books, a journal, Rod & Staff Books (Happy Seasons, A Hive of Busy Bees, My Thank You Book, My Blue Book - God's Things)

For over a year I been looking for a Bible based curriculum on the Bible accompanied with crafts for each lesson - I finally found it!!! I am SO excited, Telling God's Story.

I also purchased Set of 4 Biblical Training Charts from Doorposts.

Here are some pictures of curriculum I have purchased prior to convention that we will be using for 1st grade, thought I would throw them in!
(These materials I purchased a few months back at a small local homeschool convention as well as from friends)

For my preschooler I purchased the whole Handwriting Without Tears Set! (some items are not included in this picture)
Going back to the convention over this past weekend, thankfully my husband took my 3 other children (we stayed at the Gaylord Palms which is where the convention took place) it made it alot easier for me to be gone all day then meet my family at night for dinner. My husband and a good friend's husband took the kids to the pool at the hotel, Fun Dept and the Science Center! They had a blast, here are a few pictures of their fun!

My husband wore them out and at the end of the night they were tired!

Praise God for such a wonderful weekend of workshops, His provision, fellowship with dear friends and keeping us safe on our travels! Can't wait to go back again next year!

  5. This is a wonderful site you have. I would like to add it to one I just started with your approval
I have put together a daily blog intended to be used as an additional study tool for you and your child. History, math, science, vocabulary, and geography are given every day many with a link to the document to study. I also have researched sources that I hope may be helpful to you as an aide for your child. The site is actually very child friendly in terms of use.
I ask you to visit it and see what it has to offer. The first post “The Furniture of the Human Mind” will explain the site and hopefully you will look around.
    Thank You

  7. Awesome!! I've yet to go to a convention. I don't think I'd have as much buying restraint as you seem to have. LOL And since we're Sonlight users it's not like I don't have a billion books already that I'd need more.

    I love curriculum!!

  8. My youngest daughter enjoys the Draw Right Now series. We use the Handbook of Nature Study, and have really enjoyed it. There's a website with another mom who homeschools that has monthly challenges related to the Handbook of Nature Study. There are great ideas there. If you go to my website, you'll see the posts for the "Outdoor Nature Hour Challenge" - all the links to the Handbook of Nature Study blog are there.
