This week's topic is Summer kid friendly receipes:

On occassion I make my kids mini pizza's, the secret ingredient - buscuits for the crust.

Ingredients:
ready to cook buscuits (Philsbury or whatever brand you like)
shredded cheese
pasta sauce
When I take the buscuits out the of the package I flatten each one and then drizzle pasta sauce and then cheese on the tops. Bake using the directions on the buscuit packaging.

I serve them in my favorite containers from Easy Lunchboxes, for this particular lunch I served grapes and strawberries with it and a glass of rice milk.

Please share your kid friendly summer receipes, link up below!

  1. I remember my mom teaching my Girl Scout troop how to make these at our meeting one afternoon after school. Needless to say, they were a HUGE hit with the girls.

We did the cheese pizza as well, but she also had a few cut up vegetables (onions, green peppers, and mushrooms) and a couple spices to choose from (rosemary and oregano) that we could add as well. I learned early on that a little spice goes a long way with mini-pizzas. :)

  4. I do this but use the sandwich rounds you can get in the bread aisle. I bake them for 5 minutes and put on the sauce and let the kids decorate!
