We are doing letter of the week, starting off with a slow start. Here is our 1st week.
Letter Aa
Recognition, writing the letters and learning the sounds
printed out the letter and had him place stickers on the A's
Paper plate apples - he painted the plate red and then traced A's with our glue paint
Apple paint printing
We read Ten Apples on Top and then a craft with it (saw this on Preschool Alphabet) printed off a picture of my son and had him stack apples on his head.
Love love love the Ten Apples on Top craft! How ingenious!! I want to get that book now just to do this craft. That was one of my favorite books as a kid.
ReplyDeleteI love the glue paint idea. Looks like a lot of fun was had with the Letter A. Never thought to use those little round stickers. I use the dotters as my daughter loves them.
ReplyDeleteI agree, the paint idea is super cute! New follower :)

Love the apples up on top idea!! That is so cute. :)
ReplyDeleteEvery time I see a post about Letter of the Week like yours I think, maybe that is what my second child needs. She is soooo weak on her letters, but I have been reluctant to do such focused activities that take extra prep time from me b/c her brother learns in a different way (and just caught on with his letters) It can be a challenge to meet each child's learning styles and needs, but I feel God calling me to do more for my 4.5 year old. Your post here is helping me hear. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! If you have the time, would you consider linking up the The Ultimate Alphabet Craft Collection? (http://theattachedmama.blogspot.com/2010/07/ultimate-alphabet-craft-collection.html) I am sure your ideas would give some people inspiration!
