BLACK BEAR UNIT STUDY

My boys and some friends of ours are doing a small animal unit study monthly at our local zoo. We chose Black Bears to learn about this month. We saw the bears up close at our zoo and we got to hear the keepers talk about them and feed them!

These 2 Black Bears are brothers, their mother was killed by a car. My boys learned about the kinds of foods they eat, hibernation and how the zoo keeper trains them. What a great up close lesson!

We used the following pages in our zoo unit study binder:
Lapbook (we used the bear senses page)

  2. It sounds like you have a wonderful zoo. I'm so jealous, our area doesn't have a good zoo. Sigh.

    Thanks for linking up again!
