My 2 year old LOVES doing sensory bins. I try to put one together for her using different theme's every few weeks or so. Here is the Valentine's one I put together for her.
So what's in our Valentine's sensory bin?
Several scoops of rice
Valentine related erasers
Plastic Hearts (found at Target)
Little plastic heart boxes w/ lids (Dollar Tree)
Big red and pink pom poms
A little heart bucket (Target for $1.00)
Foam heart stickers I stuck both sticky sides back to back.
A cup with 3 dividers in it.
Tongs
Then last year I had gotten at Target some heart shaped ice cube trays, I laid those out too for her to use the tongs and place the pink hearts in each heart opening of the ice cube tray. She is always asking to play with this - perfect for when I am homeschooling my older 2 boys!
Another very creative activity! Wow you must be a fuuunnn mommy to have! =) My kids are grown so Im filing these ideas away for use with future grandkids!
ReplyDeleteI think my girls would love if I made them a new sensory bin. Gotta talk to hubby see if I can go shopping.
ReplyDeleteWe used those little heart boxes last year. I am sure I made a sensory bin. Now I have to look back and see.
THanks for the wonderful inspiration. I have a 2yr old as well and really need to get a sensory bin going for him. My daughter who is 19 was steeped in Montessori until grade 6. This brings back memories :)
ReplyDeleteThis is so exciting! I have seen several posts about their Valentine sensory bins and I am hopping aboard! I put ours together over the weekend and gonna let my kids go to town this week. I can't wait to see them explore it. I like your bin!
ReplyDeleteWow, that looks like fun! I've never made a sensory bin for my little guy... he's 2, and I bet he'd love this. We'd have to do it outdoors though, or I'd have rice bouncing all over my tile floors!!! haha
ReplyDeleteThis is really neat (and pretty too). I think I need to start doing this with my own 2 year old and it would be a great center in the 3 year old classroom I work in also! THANKS!
