I ran out of French's Onion's to use as my breading on our chicken one night, which my family loves. So I looked through my pantry, what was I going to do? No time to run to the store. So I decided to use crackers as the breading.
Used:
Wheat Thins
Eggs (whisked up)
Seasonings (Basil + Thyme)
Boneless chicken breasts
In a big Ziploc bag I poured in the Wheat Thins and then used my mallet to grind them up.
Dipped the chicken breasts in the egg
Added the egg dipped chicken in the Ziploc bag and shook it getting all the Wheat Thin coated on the chicken breasts.
Baked in the oven on 425 for 45 minutes
Viola! It was actually good - easy and a great alternative breading when you run out of bread crumbs or French's Onions!
ha ha! This happened to me fri night! I actually used cinnamon Life cereal...it was so great!!!! I addeds some nutmeg and soaked in orange juice before! It was awesome!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I never thought of using Wheat Thins although we have used other crackers. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWow, never would have thought about wheat thins! That's a great idea.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I've used ritz crackers before but never though about wheat thins.
ReplyDeleteYou are so creative! What a great idea! I would have never thought of this!
ReplyDeleteWheat Thins sound like a great alternative to bread crumbs. I don't buy breadcrumbs anymore. I just take a slice or two of bread, throw it in the food processor or blender, spread them out on a sheet pan, and bake for a few minutes until lightly brown. Voila--homemade bread crumbs.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I can see this being very tasty!
ReplyDeleteYum looks really good. I have done this a few times as well and they have always turned out great.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos. :)
Great idea and easy to do in pinch.
ReplyDeleteI never thought of that before! I love WT and they have even better flavor than bread crumbs, I'm going to remember this one, thanks!
ReplyDeleteI will be trying this soon. I always have french's onions in my pantry. Looks very good and it's a nice alternative for sure.
ReplyDeleteGREAT IDEA! IT LOOKS YUMMY!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I need to get a mallet, I use my husband's hammer, haha. It doesn't work quite the same.
ReplyDeleteI have had to do this before too... I've used cereal as well, and added seasonings and parm cheese to it. That works great too!
