IT JUMPED ON THE HOOD OF MY CAR WHILE DRIVING! WORDLESS WEDNESDAY W/ LINKY

Photobucket

My kids and I were in our van on the way to meet friends at our pool in our complex. Half way there I heard a thud, I look over to the far right of my van hood and I saw this creature (King Knight Anole Lizard, it was over 12 inches long). It must have come from the tree in my front yard which is next to my drive away. I am thinking it was on the top of my van and jumped down to my hood. So I drove really slow to the pool. I had planned on scooting it off my hoot and off to safety but it decided to jump off the hood of my van and into the street. I thought for sure it would scurry along but when we circled back someone had ran him over. My kids were upset, so was I. Anyway, we thought it was funny that it wound up on the hood of my van, scared us all because it came out of nowhere.

  12. The fellow would scare me to death jumping down on the car like that. Luckily for me, our lizards leave the trees alone and stay on the ground.

  20. OMG! That just reminded of a few weeks ago when I was running to the local grocery store (which is maybe 2 miles away) and when I was about there I noticed this baby just staring at me right next to my side view mirror. So I gently went into the parking lot and DON'T LAUGH said "stay right there, I'll be right back, please don't jump off!" I didn't even shut my door. I ran in and I only had to pick up like green onions or something I needed for a recipe. I told everyone about it (I live in a small town) and ran out and he was gone. I looked everywhere on that car and felt so guilty that I didn't carry that tiny thing in my hand into the store. I just hope he made it, he was safe in my yard.
