We are really enjoying Apologia Swimming Creatures curriculum. Here are a few crafts we have made to tie into the curriculum!
Using our glue paint the kids drew their own sea creatures and used the glue paint to accent their drawings then I had my son write a story about this drawing.
Shark with sea snail and sea anemone
Fish bowls, I found on Enchanted Learning
(above - my 1st graders, below my preschooler's)
materials needed:
2 paper plates, cut the center out for the front one
paint the background blue
we glued beads for the sand
clear wrap for the front to mimic the glass
make fish or sea creatures
use yarn or thread to hand fish to make them look like they are swimming
staple both plates together - viola!
Rainbow Fish craft - we used aluminum foil for the shiny scales
I love that first one. I think that's going to become our whale craft.
