Do you have an educational post that is about your child and you would like to share? It can be a craft, a lesson, sport etc. that your child learned this week. You do not have to be a homeschooler to LINK up below - happy to have you join us! Then come back every Friday and continue to share your learn and link post! Please do not link up educational reviews - thanks!
Like most homeschoolers I know we homeschool all year long but during the summer our load is lighter. We have been done with most of our curriculum months ago with only a few curriculums left till we are completely done with our school year. During the summer we focus primarily on Bible, handwriting, reading and math.
This summer our curriculum will be:
Homeschool Science classes at our local Science Museum
Hands on Science experiments at our local libraries for June
Summer reading programs at our local library, Barnes & Noble and HEB
For handwriting I purchased Writing Notebooks, for any field trips, crafts, play dates, etc. my boys will write about it and draw a picture to go with what they drew.
We will also be doing a character study from The Book of Virtues.
Plus I purchased Spectrum Test Practice books for both my boys for them to do over the summer.
Our homeschool group is continuing over the summer with pool play dates, park play dates, bowling, movies and much more. I have a bucket list of fun things planned for my kids to:
Here is some of what is on our list for the summer:
Water chalk art
Spray bottle art
Ice cube paint painting
Tape nature bracelets
Water balloon fights
Paint with water outside
Water pouring outside
Pool
Sponge Ball water fights
Play in the our homemade sprinkler (I will post a tutorial on how to make it)
Play in our water table
Play on our homemade Slip n' Slide (I will post a tutorial on how to make it)
Play in the rain

ReplyDeleteI really need to make a Summer bucket list, there was so much I wanted to do last year, but on a daily basis I couldn't think of anything to entertain the kids
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting!
ReplyDeleteGreat...will definitely add our bucket list to the link up. Thanks! I'd love for you to share yours as well at my Summer Bucket List Idea Share. Found you via Sun Scholars this morning. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI love summer bucket list. Wishing you and your family a wonderful summer of fun and family.
ReplyDeleteI love those plans! We are going to do the summer reading program at our library and I think I may add in field journals for them to write in daily. They both need major work with their handwriting.
